"The WaMu Family 4th Music Video Contest" OFFICIAL RULES
Submit a Music Video with your original interpretation and performance of the song "You're A Grand Old Flag" (lyrics by George M. Cohan). Contestants can perform the song with or without musical accompaniment, and as an individual or group. The Video can be made in any shooting format, but must be no longer than two (2) minutes. Videos longer than two minutes will not be considered. Submissions will be accepted March 24–May 18, 2008.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible, all contestants must meet the following requirements: 1) be at least eighteen (18) years of age on or before the date s/he enters the contest (no later than May 18, 2008) or have a parent or legal guardian submit Materials on behalf of the contestant; 2) be a resident of any state of the United States, or Washington DC, but not including Rhode Island; 3) agree to comply with additional terms and conditions of the TERMS FOR MATERIALS SUBMISSION, and complete an affidavit upon notice of winning the prize designated for the event; 4) provide One Reel any information reasonably required by One Reel for tax reporting purposes; and 5) not be an employee of One Reel, Washington Mutual, Inc., KING 5 Television, CBS Radio Broadcasting, Seattle Times Company and other participating sponsors, or entities including advertising agencies, affiliates or subsidiaries, or the immediate family members or persons domiciled with any such employee. For purposes of these eligibility rules, "immediate family members" mean spouse, children, parents, parents of spouse, siblings, and spouse's siblings.
CONTEST DESCRIPTION: To enter, join the WaMu Family 4th Contest group on YouTube (free registration is required). Read the instructions and submit your Video on YouTube.com/group/WaMuFamily4thContest, then REGISTER your video by completing the official online entry form at wamufamily4th.org/contest.htm. The entry form will be available until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Sunday, May 18, 2008. You must SUBMIT your video on the YouTube group, then REGISTER your video at http://wamufamily4th.org/contest.htm. Videos that are submitted to YouTube without a proper electronic registration form will not be eligible. YOU MUST ENTER THE CONTEST BY ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION; NO US MAIL ENTRIES PERMITTED. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM Pacific Time on Sunday, May 18, 2008 to be eligible. One Reel is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, stolen, damaged, destroyed, forged, tampered with, mutilated, incomprehensible, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. NO PURCHASE OR BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP REQUIRED TO ENTER OR WIN AND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Event subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void in Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, and where prohibited or restricted by law. All information submitted becomes the sole property of One Reel. Fraudulent entries will not be accepted and are subject to prosecution.
Semifinalists will be selected by means of a judging panel consisting of One Reel and sponsor representatives to be held on or about Friday, May 30, 2008. Of the semifinalists, the grand prize winner will be selected by means of public online voting to be held after the submission period, between Monday, June 2 and Sunday, June 15, 2008. One (1) grand prize winner will be selected. Entrants need not be present during the judging process to win. Odds of winning vary by participation and number of eligible entries received. Winners will be notified by electronic mail on or about Tuesday, June 17, 2008.
PRIZES: Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state, or local taxes, fees, insurance and other costs, expenses and service charges associated with the prize unless expressly included. This prize DOES NOT INCLUDE any associated award of costs for travel or related expenses. Prize is as follows:
One (1) Canon DC 40 4.3MP DVD Camcorder; one (1) Canon Starter Kit (inc. case, battery, DVDs & Mini SD Memory Card); one (1) Digital Concepts TR-60N Camera Tripod w/ Carrying Case; one (1) retail store gift card in the amount of $500.00 (five hundred dollars); a cash award in the amount of $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars); and a summer entertainment package that includes each of the following 2008 events: four (4) VIP invitations to the WaMu Family 4th at Lake Union, July 4 at Gas Works Park; four (4) 3-day passes to Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival, August 30–September 1 at Seattle Center; four (4) tickets to any 2008 WaMu ZooTunes concert at Woodland Park Zoo (subject to availability); and four (4) tickets to any 2008 Seattle Mariners home game at Safeco Field (subject to availability). Minimum value of prize package is Three Thousand One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars ($3,125.00). Artists, times and event details are all subject to change without notice.
Winners must complete, sign and return the required Affidavit of Eligibility and Release ("Affidavit and Release"), a copy of which will be included in the material provided with notification of being selected a winner, within five (5) days of receiving notification. If the winner does not complete, sign and return such Affidavit of Eligibility and Release within five (5) days of notification or otherwise does not comply with these OFFICIAL RULES or TERMS FOR MATERIALS SUBMISSION, that person will be disqualified and will forfeit any prize. Prize cannot be redeemed for cash, and is not transferable or exchangeable.
If a potential Prize Winner is unavailable, declines to accept the prize, or otherwise fails to meet all Eligibility Requirements, or if the person whose Video is selected cannot be located using the information provided by the person on the entry form, that person will not receive the prize, and One Reel will conduct a subsequent judging from all remaining eligible Videos to select an alternate winner. The winner will be notified by electronic mail in accordance with the information on the entry form.
The event is operated by One Reel, which is solely responsible for its conduct, completion and awarding of prizes. All decisions of One Reel on all matters relating to this event are final. The winner, by acceptance of a Prize, agrees to release One Reel, Washington Mutual, Inc. and all prize providers from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, death, disability, attorneys' fees, costs of litigation and settlement as well as damages or losses to persons and property that may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, redemption or use of the Prize or while traveling to and/or from a location to obtain or use a Prize.
Neither One Reel nor Washington Mutual, Inc. has made any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the use of the prize including, without limitation, quality, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Further, no responsibilities are accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing, or acts of any government or authority.
One Reel and Washington Mutual, Inc., and their affiliates and subsidiaries and employees, shall not be liable to any winner or any other person for failure to supply the Prizes or any part thereof, by reason of any acts of God, any action(s), regulation(s), order(s) or request(s) by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action(s), regulations(s), order(s) or request(s) prove(s) to be invalid), equipment failure, terrorist acts, earthquake, war, fire, flood, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labor dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal), labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow-down, civil disturbance, insurrection, riot, or any other cause beyond One Reel's sole control.
Except where prohibited by law, participation in this contest or acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use the winner's name, biographical data, photograph, testimonial or other likeness and/or prize information or personal exposition for promotional, advertising and/or publicity purposes by One Reel, Washington Mutual, Inc. or its designee(s), whether or not in connection with the event, without further compensation to or approval by the winner.
By entering, each participant confirms having read these Official Rules and agrees that s/he understands and will comply with them.
